Restoration projects of this historial highway have been taking place across the country through groups such as The Lincoln Highway National Association and in Pennsylvania through The Pennsylvania Lincoln Highway Association.

The Pennsylvania strech of highway has been dotted by bold murals. These depictions of historcal slices of life along her lanes remind travels of those who have gone on before you. Along with the murals are also information spots that give the history and stories of that site.  These sites are marked by artistic replicas of 1920's gas pumps.  On each of these the artist retells the great history of this highway.
